Clickasnap. Can You Cheat The System?

Clickasnap. Can You Cheat The System?

As of right now, Clickasnap is the only photo sharing site in the world that pays its users a cut of the ad revenue for every view of their uploaded pics. So is it possible to cheat the system and make some quick cash? Read on to find out!

If you’re not big into reading, don’t worry, I won’t make you wait. The answer is no, there is no reliable way to make quick, easy or meaningful amounts of money by cheating the Clickasnap platform.

If you’re thinking of becoming one of the hundreds of people who over the last few months have signed up, only to post thousands of stolen stock or social media images in the hope you’ll get many paid views, don’t bother. You’re wasting your time.

The idea that there’s a hole in the system that allows such an easy opportunity to make quick cash seems to have drawn in a lot of these newcomers. In reality, the scammer accounts stand out so easily that they’re normally banned fairly quickly.

I’m not going to list the numerous ways in which a “fake” account can be spotted, because this post is not intended to help anyone that is trying to make money from other people’s work.

Not an overly interesting image. It still made some money though.

All that needs to be known is that scam accounts are easily spotted and so even if you do manage to get away with it for a period of time, you still need to earn at least $15 before you can withdraw your cash, which takes a while.

Therefore, the chance of being caught out and banned before you reach the withdrawal threshold is incredibly high. Imagine all the time wasted copying images from the internet and then uploading them all when, for sure, it will end up being for nothing.

Even if you did get away with it (which you won’t), it’s a lot of effort for $15! I know in some countries this could be worth more money than in others. But personally, I couldn’t be bothered putting in the effort required to pull this off for $100. It’s tedious.

I was quite proud of this one at the time. Not so much today.

I’m not writing this post to help potential scammers avoid wasting their time and effort. I’m writing because not only is it a totally pointless endeavour to try and exploit the platform, but these actions are ruining the site and experience for genuine photographers.

Because of the amount of fraudsters on free accounts, Clickasnap had to take action to stop the posting of so much stolen content.

This has now resulted in the demonetization of the free accounts.

I still quite like this one. Shame no one else does.

So to be clear, if you open a free account, you can no longer get paid views and will make zero money, regardless of what you post.

In order to get paid views, you must now sign up to one of the paid plans, with the cheapest being around £1.67/$2 per month.

For those who use the site as it was intended, this is no problem, as if you have a decent catalogue of images and a way of getting traffic to the site, you’ll still make a profit.

If however you are planning on trying to exploit the platform, you’ve now got an extra hurdle in the way. If your account gets banned because you get found out for posting stolen images (which you will), your account will get banned and you’ll more than likely not receive a refund.

There is however a way that you can make a decent amount of extra cash from the platform, without it feeling like work! It can be done by taking good quality photos of your own, whether on a “real” camera or a phone, and uploading to the site with a clear description and appropriate tags.

All the pictures that I have included on this post are my least popular on the Clickasnap site. Have a good look at them and click on them to be taken through to Clickasnap where you can view details such as views and likes.

These pics of mine are not my best, but they still make money. If you can first learn to take a decent photo, then take many more of your own before putting in the effort to upload them, you too can make a little extra cash and maybe pick up a new hobby which you will hopefully find fulfilling for many years to come.
